Augustin Simat

Augustin Simat, born in 1982, started his musical journey at the age of five in his native country of Croatia. The Croatian National Radio Broadcast said after his debut in the capitol of Croatia: “He truly possesses the music through sonority."

 

Considered to be one of the most talented Croatian pianists of his generation, after completing his undergraduate studies at the “Academy of the Fine Arts in University of Split”, he continued his musical studies at the prestigious “Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory” in Russia. He earned his first Master’s Degree and graduated with honors. His studies in Russia were sponsored by Croatian ministry of culture, and Croatian Lion’s and Rotary clubs.

 

In 2012, Mr. Simat came to New York and entered CUNY, The Aaron Copland School of Music to study in class of well known Russian/American pianist and pedagogue Dr. Nina Lelchuk with whom he has been working with for the past 10 years. Augustin is winner of national and international competitions and has appeared as a soloist as well as in chamber ensembles on the stages in Europe, USA and Latin America. Currently he resides and works in New York City.
