BRINGING CHILDREN AND MUSICIANS TOGETHER

Javor Bračić is a concert pianist with a passion for engaging audiences in deep explorations of musical masterworks. He believes music reaches its most profound level when we listen with care and extends his philosophy by teaching music. As a lecturer and performer, he created a conversation-concert series, "The Art of Listening", which takes audience members on a uniquely interactive quest for musical meaning. One of his recent music series, themed on Liszt's B minor Sonata, was hosted by the National Opera Center.
Javor's concert career has taken him to sixteen countries spanning five continents. He performs at concert halls such as Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center, but is equally divested in musical contributions to local schools, museums, and hospitals, including a piano summer school for Croatian students. In the past year Javor has performed at Merkin Hall in New York, LeFrak Hall at Queens College, Von der Mehden Hall at the University of Connecticut, East Central College in Missouri, and the Tribby Arts Center in Florida. He has collaborated with Judith Mendenhall, Ginevra Petrucci, David West, Elad Kabilio, Yochai Greenfeld, and Anya Owens. Six recitals have been given at the Himan Brown Program at the 92nd Street Y. Bračić has also served as a jury member in two piano competitions.
